Sean,

Just so you know, GM wasn't being deceitful. The residents of the township asked GM to leave up the walls, so dust and debris would not be blown through the air, as much. And, unlike the City of Lansing, Lansing Township demanded that after these be torn down, that they seed the grown to make green space so it wouldn't look like the surface of the move coming into, and going out of, the township. I wish the City of Lansing would have had the balls to ask for a little for a little more for the LCA sites.

Your photos tell a story that is replicated across the state of Michigan. Michael Moore was on Larry King on November 19--with a photo of Michael standing by the now demolished AC plant in Flint, Michigan. His father was employed there when he was a kid. Sadly, the impact is one of many leaving our state in hopes of finding some way to earn a living. Today's CNN statistic is that 4.5 MILLION manufacturing jobs have been lost in the US in the last 4 - 5 years. It seems like Michigan needs to make something. (bottled water). When the economy is in shambles, families become fragmented as people move away in hopes of finding "something". Your pictures say more than their vision of deteriorated buildings.
